Storytelling Through Pictures via a workshop: When Imagination Finds Its Outlet Organised by a student from Global Bridge Academy, Batch 2

Nadia, a student from Global Bridge Academy Batch 2, successfully organised a workshop on narrative drawing as part of her practical assignment for the Event Management course. The workshop stemmed from a simple observation: many people have a rich imagination but have not yet found the right way to express it through drawings. Narrative drawing emerged as the answer: an approach to storytelling through visual illustrations that anyone can learn, even those who feel they cannot draw. Designing this workshop turned out to be not as easy as imagined. Initially, Nadia had planned to hold a painting session, but she realised that painting would require more than the three hours available, as well as equipment with a higher budget. The format was therefore adjusted so that all participants could enjoy the best possible experience. Not only that, but the fact that promotion had only been underway for around two weeks prior to the event presented its own challenge, requiring Nadia and her team to act swiftly and meticulously from day one. Yet it was precisely from these challenges that the greatest lessons emerged. Nadia learnt that organising an event from scratch requires careful time management and consistent communication between the organisers and the speakers—two factors that directly impact the participants’ experience on the day itself. For Nadia, who was venturing into the world of event organisation for the first time, this experience was far more valuable than any academic mark. It is clear proof that at Global Bridge Academy, learning takes place not only in the classroom but also in the real world.
