Social Media Course at Global Bridge Academy: The First 3 Seconds That Change Everything

Whilst attending business classes at Global Bridge Academy (GBA), every week we are introduced to a variety of topics, ranging from branding and finance to digital marketing. As a participant in Batch 3, on Saturday 15 August 2026, one of the GBA Batch 3 students, ical, learnt about social media from the basics, ranging from how to define a brand, research target audiences, create engaging hooks, to understanding social media algorithms. The material was truly practical, so once learnt, it could be put into practice straight away. Ical was keen to join this course because she wanted to have skills relevant to current needs, especially as the material presented by Ka Ratu wasn’t just theory but also hands-on practice. The biggest challenge Ical faced was consistently creating content and overcoming her lack of confidence when appearing on camera, but from that she learnt that the most important thing is to just get started, then keep evaluating as time goes on. The biggest change I’ve noticed is that I now have a much better understanding of content creation strategies; I no longer just upload content haphazardly, and I’m fully aware that the first three seconds of a video are crucial. Aside from the knowledge gained, what left the deepest impression was the comfortable classroom atmosphere, the mentors who were open and willing to share their expertise, and my classmates who supported one another.
