Omoiyari Camp: Global Bridge Academy Revives the Roots of Tradition Through the Hands of the Younger Generation

Global Bridge Academy once again presented one of its flagship programs, Omoiyari Camp, held over two days and one night on Saturday–Sunday, June 6–7, 2026. This event was designed as a platform to give participants a deeper introduction to the various programs offered by Global Bridge Academy, while also serving as a space for learning and interaction rich in cultural values. Through a series of engaging activities, Omoiyari Camp not only provided participants with a fresh experience but also broadened their understanding of the importance of preserving tradition amid the changing times. We interviewed one of the Omoiyari Camp participants to ask about how the activities unfolded. "During the Omoiyari Camp I took part in, I had the opportunity to get directly involved in traditional games with the other participants, as well as perform as a dancer and actor in the cultural night, which was one of the highlights of the event. My motivation for joining this activity was quite simple: I wanted to become more familiar with the various traditional dances and games that seem to be increasingly rare in everyday life these days. Through this experience, I realized just how vast our nation's cultural heritage is, and how many values it holds that are worth continuing to learn and preserve for the younger generation. Throughout the activity, the biggest challenge I faced was mastering the dance movements and the rules of the traditional games, none of which I had ever learned before. Although it wasn't easy, my friends and I kept practicing diligently until we were finally able to perform well. Through that process, I gained many valuable lessons, especially considering how few young people today are interested in reconnecting with traditional games. In my opinion, activities like Omoiyari Camp are extremely important to keep holding regularly and sustainably, because there are so many values, meanings, and benefits that can be drawn from them and applied to life in society. Personally, the impact on me has been huge and far-reaching from cultivating a love for culture to fostering better personal growth."
