Developing English Language Skills with Global Bridge Academy

At Global Bridge Academy (GBA), we believe that education is not just about academic achievement, but also about building character, skills and the ability to connect with the world. Through the CARe (Communication, Action, and Respect) Curriculum, inspired by the Japanese value of Omoiyari, GBA offers a range of learning programmes that encourage participants to develop with confidence, empathy and a global outlook. One such programme is the One-Year Regular English Course, which combines grammar and vocabulary reinforcement, speaking practice, pronunciation, discussions with native speakers, and progress monitoring via the English Growth Journal. After approximately three months of attending English classes, participants began to understand how to construct sentences more accurately whilst also learning a variety of new vocabulary. Their interest in joining this programme stemmed from a desire to gain a deeper understanding of the English language and to become more proficient in communication. Although the early morning class times posed a challenge, particularly when facing traffic jams on the way, the experience actually taught them the importance of managing their time to ensure they arrived on time. The most memorable aspect of attending classes at GBA was the growth in my understanding of and interest in the English language. The learning process not only helped me improve my English language skills, but also made me realise that there is still so much more to learn. This experience has motivated me to continue learning and developing my English language skills in the future.
